The Immigrant Investor Program
The Immigrant Investor Program seeks to attract
experienced business people to invest C$400,000 into Canada¨s economy.
Your investment is managed by Citizenship and
Immigration Canada (CIC) and is guaranteed by the Canadian provinces that
use it to create jobs and help their economies grow.
CIC will return your C$400,000 investment, without
interest, about five years and two months after payment.
To be eligible under the Immigrant Investor Program,
you must:

Have at
least two years of business experience.

Have a net
worth of at least C$800,000 that was legally obtained, and be willing and
able to make an investment of C$400,000.

You must
also show that you have enough money to support yourself and your
dependants after you arrive in Canada.

Meet
medical and security requirements. You and your family members must pass a
medical examination and security and criminal checks.

Meet any
other requirements of Canadian or Quebec immigration regulations.
Quebec Immigrant
Investor Program
To
be eligible for this program, you must:
- have
net assets of at least C$800,000, acquired through
lawful economic activities
- have
a minimum
of three years management experience acquired over the
course of the 10 years preceding your application for a Qu└bec
selection certificate, in a profitable and legal business
(agricultural, industrial or commercial), in government or in an
international organization. Management experience is here defined as
the actual and full-time assuming of the responsibilities and duties
related to the planning, management and control of material, financial
and human resources, provided that such responsibilities and duties
are not assumed in the context of an apprenticeship, training or specialization
process attested to by a diploma.
- sign an investment
agreement, undertaking to invest C$400,000, with a financial intermediary (broker or
trust company) authorized to participate in the Investor program.
Assessment
of your application will also take into account other factors such as your
age, the nature and duration of your professional training, your language
capabilities and your personal qualities.
